Fuat Oktay, Turkish Vice President, congratulated the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on the Day of Social Resistance, corresponding to the 1st of August.
In his tweet on Twitter, Oktay said that the Day of Social Resistance is a symbol of the Turkish Cypriot struggle.

It is reported that the Turkish Cypriots celebrate the first of August every year as the Day of Social Resistance.
It coincides with the anniversary of the Ottoman conquest of the island, the establishment of the Turkish Resistance Association, and the establishment of the leadership of the security forces in the country.
