Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has confirmed that his country will intensify talks on the “grain corridor” within the next week or 10 days to reach a conclusion on a safe passage for the transport of (Ukrainian) grain through the Black Sea.

This came in a press conference held on Tuesday with Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi after their meeting at the Presidential Complex in the capital, Ankara.
“We will intensify our talks in the next week or 10 days to reach a conclusion,” Erdogan said.
He pointed out that the developments in the region have demonstrated concretely the importance of Turkey to the European Union.
Regarding the SAMP/ T air defense system being developed by the European company Eurosam anti-aircraft missile production, Erdogan said: “We aim to reach the signing stage on the system because it is of great importance to our defense systems.”

Regarding the repatriation of migrants by Greece, the Turkish president noted that “Athens has now begun to pose a danger to Rome as well, as irregular migrants who are pushed from Greek waters are trying to seek refuge in Italy.”
