“We have bilateral talks with Mr. Shara. We have talks with Mr. Trump on this issue because it concerns the region. Every step taken in the Middle East is vital for us. Of course, we have to discuss these matters with Mr. Trump; they are extremely important.”
President Erdoğan and his wife, Emine Erdoğan, then entered the Turkish House accompanied by their accompanying delegation. One of the most important topics in their discussions was Gaza, and he will be on stage at the United Nations on Tuesday to hear the outcry rising from Gaza.
Erdogan’s schedule in New York is expected to be busy. The president will also attend the Palestine Conference at the UN, meet with the Turkish-American community in New York, and deliver a speech at a dinner hosted by the Turkish-American Steering Committee.
