Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that Turkey is one of the countries that provided the greatest support to Palestine and showed the sharpest reaction towards Israel since the first day of the attacks on the Gaza Strip.
This came in a speech he delivered during his participation on Wednesday in an election rally for the Justice and Development Party in the state of Mardin, south of the country.
Erdogan explained, “The Palestinian brothers and the oppressed in Gaza always bear witness to Turkey’s support for their cause.”
He pointed out that the Islamic world received the holy month of Ramadan with sadness as a result of the continuing Israeli attacks on the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
He pointed out that Turkey sent, via planes and ships, more than 40,000 tons of humanitarian aid to the region to deliver it to the Gaza Strip.
