Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country has emerged as a “landmark of stability and peace in the region.”

This came in what he wrote in the visitors’ book during his visit with members of the Supreme Military Council to the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, in the capital Ankara.

Erdogan wrote: “In this critical period in which our region is witnessing heated conflicts and political assassinations, Turkey emerges as a landmark of stability and peace.”

He stressed his determination to protect his country’s interests by taking all necessary measures against “expansionist ambitions that have recently revived.”

He added: “We will not give the opportunity to those who want to turn our region into a sea of blood, and we will remain a source of security for our friends.”
