Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly condemned the attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump during an election rally in Pennsylvania.

This came in a post by President Erdogan through his account on the “X” platform on Sunday.

Erdogan said in his post: “I strongly condemn the attempt to assassinate the 45th President of the United States of America, the presidential candidate, Mr. Donald Trump.”

He added: “I extend my sincerest wishes for the safety of Mr. Trump, his family, and his loved ones, and I affirm that Turkey will stand by the friendly and ally American people.”

He added: “I believe that the attack will be investigated in the most effective way, and the perpetrators and instigators will be brought to justice as soon as possible, so that this incident does not cast a shadow over the American elections and global stability.”

At dawn on Sunday, former US President Donald Trump was injured in a shooting while he was giving a speech at an election rally in Pennsylvania.

Trump said after the shooting incident, “I am fine and undergoing medical examinations.” While gunshots were heard during Trump’s speech, and blood was seen on his ear.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced that the person who carried out the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, while multiple sources from US law enforcement reported that “the gunman died,” according to CNN.
