Erdogan sends his condolences to Lebanese people in the Beirut explosion

In a message in Arabic, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his condolences over the killing of several people in the Beirut explosion, and prayed for the speedy recovery of the wounded.

As the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a message on the social networking site Twitter in Arabic, (his account in Arabic) expressing the death of a number of people in the Beirut explosion, the Lebanese capital, wishing a speedy recovery of the injured.

Erdogan’s message said: “I send my condolences to the families of the victims of the explosion in Beirut, and I ask God Almighty to have mercy on the victims and provide immediate recovery to the injured, And that the government and people of Turkey always stand by their Lebanese brothers.”

Earlier, Erdogan made a phone call to his Lebanese counterpart, Michel Aoun, in which he expressed his regret and condolences to the Lebanese people, and Turkey’s full readiness to provide humanitarian and medical assistance to the victims of the Beirut explosion, which occurred in the port of Beirut.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu also sent a message via Twitter about his condolences and willingness to help the Lebanese people.

The message says: I ask God to have mercy on the victims of the explosion that occurred in the port of Beirut, and I wish good health to the friendly Lebanese nation.

We hope the number of victims will not increase. We are ready to help the Lebanese brothers.

For his part, Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab confirmed the explosion of 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate in the Beirut port explosion.

According to statistics released in the early hours of the day, the death toll exceeded 100 and the number of wounded more than 4,000.

The Lebanese Minister of Health stressed that many of the victims of the explosion are still missing and that people are turning to the disaster management agency to search for missing victims.
