Erdogan pays an inspection visit to the affected Kastammonu state

On Friday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made an inspection tour of Bozkurt district of Kastamonu state (north), which recently witnessed torrential rains and floods.

It was reported that Erdogan presented to the mobile operations center of the gendarmerie forces that was formed in the district, and chaired a coordination meeting in it.

After the meeting, the President conducted an inspection visit to the areas affected by torrential rains in the district, exchanged conversations with those affected, and wished them safety.

The western Black Sea region (northern Turkey) was recently hit by heavy rains that caused torrential rains and floods in the states of Barton, Kastamonu, and Sinop.

On Friday, Erdogan declared the flood-affected areas in the three states “disaster areas.”

On Friday, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced that the number of victims of torrential rains and floods in those areas had risen to 27.
