Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will participate in the opening of the 2022 FIFA World Cup at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

According to a statement by the Turkish Communications Department, President Erdogan will travel today, Sunday, to the Qatari capital, Doha.
Qatar will host the FIFA World Cup from November 20 to December 18.

The tournament begins with the opening match between Qatar and Ecuador at Al-Bayt Stadium, in the first World Cup to be held in the Middle East and the Arab world.
