Erdogan launches an urban transformation campaign in Istanbul

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Saturday the launch of the largest urban transformation campaign in the city of Istanbul.

This came during an event at a conference center in the city entitled: “The Greater Urban Transformation Program in Istanbul.”

He stressed that the government will provide great support to the campaign, by providing cash aid and loans to citizens.

He pointed out that the total losses of the Turkish economy due to the February 6 earthquake amounted to 104 billion dollars.

He pointed out that the foundation stone was laid for the construction of 3,037 housing units in several areas of Istanbul today.

He stated that they will work to accelerate the transformation work by building 400,000 homes in Istanbul alone.
