This came in a speech during his participation in the “Forum on Politics and New Horizons in the Twenty-first Century”, which was launched in Istanbul on Friday, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the accession of the Justice and Development Party to power in Turkey.

President Erdoğan noted that while the party was undergoing radical transformations in Turkey and Turkish politics, it did not neglect to modernize itself either.

He added, “We renew our party, our cadres, and our policy in accordance with the demands of our nation and the interim circumstances without compromising our founding principles.”

He noted that the party did not betray the trust entrusted to it by the people through the ballot boxes of their free will at any time.

And he added: “Whatever the circumstances, we have always continued our struggle on the grounds of law and democracy.”
