Erdogan heads to Samarkand summit in Uzbekistan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan left the capital, Ankara, for the Uzbek city of Samarkand, to participate in the ninth summit of the Organization of Turkish States.

The Turkish president’s plane took off from Esenboga Airport in Ankara on Thursday, where he was seen off by his deputy, Fuat Oktay.

Erdogan is accompanied on his visit by Ministers of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Defense Hulusi Akar, Transport and Infrastructure Adil Kara Ismailoglu and Head of the Presidential Communication Department Fahrettin Altun.
