Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday that Greece has defied the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and its allies through its hostile attitudes towards his country.

This came in a speech while attending a concert on the occasion of “Victory Day” at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.

President Erdoğan pointed out that “Greece is not an equal to Turkey, politically, economically and militarily.”

“We are aware of the true intention of those who are trying to waste our country’s time and energy through Greece, as happened a century ago,” he added.

He pointed out that Greece defied “NATO” and the allies through its hostile stances, which began with harassment of Turkish fighters and reached the level of tracking fighters by the radar of the S-300 system.

He continued, “They refrained from giving us F-35 fighters and expressed their dissatisfaction with our purchase of (Russian) defense systems. We don’t care what they say, we have the ability to manufacture any product they prohibit us.”

And he added, “The United States, which refrained from handing us F-35 fighters, honored Greece with them and opened its hands for the entry of these fighters with the Russian defense systems in one trench.”
