Emine Erdogan, wife of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, announced her country’s readiness to temporarily host orphans from the Gaza Strip.
This is until a permanent ceasefire is reached and life returns to normal.
This came in a meeting held by Intisar Amer (Al-Sisi), wife of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, with the First Lady of Turkey.
She accompanied President Erdogan on his official visit to Egypt on Wednesday.
During the closed meeting, ways to expand aid provided to the Gaza Strip, which is exposed to a devastating Israeli war, and resolve the humanitarian crisis were evaluated.
During the meeting, the steps to be taken for the benefit of orphan children were discussed, especially those affected by the humanitarian tragedy taking place in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli attacks.
During the meeting, Erdogan confirmed Turkey’s readiness to temporarily host orphaned children from Gaza until a permanent ceasefire is reached and things return to normal.
She stressed the need to unite the efforts of all countries for the sake of the Gaza Strip, which is being subjected to a devastating Israeli war that has left tens of thousands of civilian casualties.
It led Israel to appear before the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide against the Palestinians.
