The Central Bank of Turkey will host an international academic conference to be held in Istanbul on May 7-8, 2025.
According to the announcement made by the Central Bank of Turkey, the US National Bureau of Economic Research will organize a research conference titled “Monetary Policy in Emerging Markets” in Istanbul on May 7-8, 2025 with the aim of promoting research on monetary policy in emerging markets and studying past experiences of developing economies.
The conference, which will be hosted by the Central Bank of Turkey, is expected to include participants from international institutions such as the US Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
The conference will address several important topics that have been identified as follows: “Monetary Policy in High Inflationary Environments” “Settlements that Determine the Optimal Monetary Policy Stance in Emerging Markets” “The Interaction of Monetary and Fiscal Policies in Emerging Markets” “Monetary Policy, Capital Flows, and Exchange Rates” “Monetary Policy, Financial Disputes, and International Arbitration Distortions” “Interactions of Monetary Policy, Macroprudential Policy, Risk Pricing, and Financial Markets” “Inflationary Effects of Trade and Supply Chain Restructuring on Monetary Policy” “Debt Management in High Interest Rate Environments” “Interactions between Monetary Policy, Exchange Rates, Capital Controls, and Other Policies” “The Role of the Global South in Geopolitical Contradictions.”
