In a statement on social media, Ömer Çelik, the deputy chairman and spokesperson of the Justice and Development Party (AKP), stated:
“It is gratifying that an important step has been taken towards lasting peace. The signatures signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, hosted by US President Donald Trump, will establish lasting peace.
They will also eliminate the tools of exploitation used by those exploiting the conflict. The peace vision presented by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the South Caucasus will bring new gains in the coming period that will benefit everyone.”
