Turkey’s ambassador to Moscow, Tanju Bilgiç, said that his country is the largest investor in the Republic of Tatarstan, affiliated with the Russian Federation, and that its investments amount to $2.5 billion.
This came in a statement Thursday on the sidelines of the “Russia – Islamic World: Kazan Forum 2024” activities in the Tatarstan capital, whose activities will continue until May 19.
Bilgiç added that Tatarstan is one of the most economically developed republics in Russia and has oil, automobile and aircraft industries.
He mentioned that Tatarstan is one of Russia’s gateways to the world, and said: “There are efforts to attract many investors to Kazan, and Russia is trying to improve its relations with Islamic countries through Tatarstan.”
He pointed out that Turkey has many investments in Tatarstan and that it is the largest investor in it, with its investments amounting to about 2.5 billion dollars.
The ambassador pointed out that a third of Turkey’s investments in Russia are in Tatarstan and the capital Kazan region.
He explained that the number of Muslims is large in Russia and that the demand for halal products is increasing daily, recalling the presence of many Turkish companies working in the field.
