Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met on Wednesday with the second Turkish astronaut, Tuva Cihangir Atasever, in the capital, Ankara.

Erdogan met Atasever and his family at Esenboğa International Airport before heading on an official visit to Spain.

The meeting was attended by the Turkish President, his wife Emine Erdogan, and the Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır.

On Saturday, the VSS Unity suborbital vehicle, which includes the second Turkish astronaut, completed its journey by landing on Earth, one hour and 10 minutes after it took off earlier the same day.

The suborbital vehicle landed on the ground after reaching an altitude of about 45,000 feet by the carrier plane, before igniting its hybrid rocket engine to reach an altitude of approximately 90 kilometers.

After completing the scheduled mission, Turkish pioneer Tuva Cihangir Atasever landed successfully with the rest of the Galactic 07 flight team, consisting of 6 individuals, including two from the United States and one from Italy, in addition to two pilots.

The suborbital vehicle landed at the Spaceport facility in New Mexico, USA.

It should be noted that last January, Turkish astronaut Albert Gezer Oji conducted 13 scientific experiments during the Axiom Mission 3 mission on the International Space Station.
