A US State Department report documented the practices of the YPG/PKK terrorist organization regarding the recruitment of children during the clashes in Syria and Iraq.
This came in a report on human smuggling that the US State Department submitted to Congress within the framework of the Human Smuggling Victims Protection Act.

The report stated that the terrorist organization “ISIS” and “PKK”, along with Iranian-backed militias, recruited children in Iraq.
He pointed out that sources reported that the PKK included dozens of children coming from Kirkuk to Sinjar in 2021 to its cadres and forced them to bear arms in order to prepare them for clashes.
He confirmed that civil society organizations announced in 2018 that PKK recruits children and takes them to training camps in the Qandil Mountains on the Turkish-Iranian-Iraqi border.
He pointed out that these facts and violations have been constantly mentioned in all US administration reports since 2018.

In a related context, the US report stated that the terrorist organization “YPG/PKK” had recruited children under the age of 12 into its cadres in Syria, forcing them to carry weapons and be trained to use them.
He explained that the aforementioned terrorist organization has continued, since 2017, forcibly recruiting children in refugee camps in northeastern Syria.
