The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) of the Turkish Ministry of Interior has extended a helping hand to a large number of needy people in many countries since the beginning of this year.
According to official data, AFAD provided aid to the needy in many countries during the period from January 1 to November 30, 2024.
Among those countries are: Palestine, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Somalia, Pakistan, Sudan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zambia, Burundi, the Republic of the Congo and Spain.
Under the supervision of AFAD, Turkey has transported 88,198 tons of relief supplies to the Gaza Strip via 13 planes and 13 ships during the past 11 months of this year.
An amount of $1.5 million was also donated for Gaza, including $500,000 provided by the Turkish Red Crescent Society.

Turkey delivered 8,822 tons of humanitarian aid via 20 “good trains” to Afghanistan in cooperation between AFAD, TIKA and a number of civil society organizations.
While 64,992 humanitarian aid packages were sent to Bangladesh for those affected by the floods.
AFAD sent 425 tons of aid to Lebanon, 50,000 medical packages to Pakistan and 3,000 medical packages to Somalia.
5,408 tons of humanitarian aid were sent to Sudan via two ships.
Turkey, under the supervision of AFAD, provided the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina with 60 prefabricated houses and quantities of relief materials.
The aid included sending 250 plastic waste containers with a capacity of 1,100 liters to Spain, and providing food aid to other countries such as Zambia, Burundi and the Republic of Congo.
