Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz assessed current events and answered questions on a program he attended on Channel 7. Yilmaz’s deputy said, “We expect inflation to reach around 30 percent by the end of the year, and perhaps slightly higher or lower.
We expect inflation to be below 20 percent by 2026, and to be in single digits by 2027.”
When Yilmaz was asked, “Are you, as Ankara, satisfied with the results of this meeting?” Recalling his meetings with the president, Yilmaz said, “In a word, we are satisfied. We know from media statements and our institutions’ assessments that it was a very productive and positive meeting.”
Yilmaz explained that the meeting with Trump discussed a wide range of topics, from regional conflicts and wars to problems in the global order, economic and trade affairs, and the defense industry, and that these meetings were very positive.
When asked about opposition claims that “the United States benefited from the talks with Trump,” Yılmaz said: “It’s truly unfortunate. We must take a completely different, more responsible stance, especially on international relations and national issues.
You may be in the opposition, but you must empower and support this country’s leader on the international stage. You cannot serve this country by injecting the rhetoric of others or some anti-Turkey groups into domestic politics.”
