
General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Chief of the General Staff, made his first international visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), during the Supreme Military Council meeting.
According to a statement issued by the General Staff, General Bayraktaroğlu made his first international visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
He was received by TRNC President Ersin Tatar, Parliament Speaker Ziya Öztürkler, and Prime Minister Ünal Üstayil, accompanied by the Commander of the Land Forces, General Metin Tokel.
He was also accompanied by the Commander of the Turkish Cypriot Peace Forces, Lieutenant General Sabahattin Kılınç, and the Commander of the Security Forces, Major General İlker Görgülü, who visited the Turkish Ambassador to Nicosia, Ali Murat Başçırı.
Bayraktaroğlu and his accompanying delegation also visited the tombs of the national leaders of the TRNC, Dr. Fazıl Küçük and the founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş, and the Bosphorus Martyrs’ Cemetery, and signed their memorial records.
