Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş said on Saturday that Ankara will continue to stand with its Palestinian brothers and sisters, especially the children of the Gaza Strip.
Göktaş’s remarks came as part of her visit, accompanied by Palestinian Minister of Social Development Samah Hamad, to children from Gaza in the Turkish capital, Ankara, who have been exposed to the ongoing war of extermination that Israel is waging in the Strip.
It was reported that Ministers Göktaş and Hamad visited a sports facility in Ankara, where they participated in sports activities with Gazan children there.
In a statement after reviewing the conditions of the Gazan children, the Turkish minister said that Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza before the eyes of the world since October 7, 2023.
She emphasized that women and children are the most affected victims of the Israeli attacks, adding: “Israel does not respect any moral values in the genocide it is committing before the eyes of the world, and continues to bomb schools and hospitals.”

She stressed that Turkey is working with all its institutions and at all levels to stop the Israeli genocide in Gaza, saying, “We will continue today and tomorrow to stand by our Palestinian brothers and the children of Gaza, as we did yesterday.”
For her part, the Palestinian Minister of Social Development praised the Turkish Ministry of Family and Family Affairs for sponsoring children who were evacuated with their companions from Gaza, thanks to Ankara’s efforts, to receive medical treatment in Turkey.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has continued its widespread genocidal war against the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip, including killing, destruction, starvation, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
This US-backed genocide has left more than 176,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, along with hundreds of thousands displaced.
