A march organized by the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) took place in Istanbul on Sunday in support of the Gaza Strip and to denounce the ongoing Israeli war of genocide against the Strip, which has lasted for more than 19 months.

Thousands of demonstrators, including members of various civil society organizations, gathered in Beyazit Square and marched toward the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque.

During their march toward the mosque, the demonstrators chanted takbeers and slogans such as “Criminal Israel, leave Palestine.”

The demonstrators arrived at the Hagia Sophia Mosque square waving Turkish and Palestinian flags, awaiting speeches in support of Gaza from a platform prepared for this purpose.

Israel has been waging a widespread war of genocide against the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, which includes killing, destruction, starvation, and forced displacement.

Ignoring all international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the operation, it has left more than 172,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
