Communications Director Fahrettin Altun stated in a post on his social media account on the anniversary of the April 27 e-Memorandum that April 27, 2007, was the date of a major attack on democracy and the will of the people through the “e-Memorandum.”
This was a reflection of the mentality of a military coup. He noted the following:
Thanks to the sincere stance of our brave people who believe in democracy, the national will, and civilian politics, led by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the elected government of the Republic of Turkey, the Justice and Development Party (AKP), the greatest representative of legitimate politics, and the nation united behind this stance, this attack was thwarted.
This date became a unique turning point in the history of Turkish democracy. The dreams of those who planned and executed April 27 were shattered. With the firm resolve Türkiye demonstrated against another coup attempt nine years later on July 15, 2016, Turkey brought the coup plotters back to the forefront.

Altun emphasized that Turkey is no longer a country where coups can be carried out and where tutelage centers can act as they please.
He offered the following assessment: Turkey is a strong democracy, where the national will is protected and where it is not subject to any external hegemony, neither domestically nor internationally.
Turkey will continue its path, making the will of the people supreme and stronger in the face of all threats, as it was on April 27.
We will continue this struggle to leave future generations with a stronger, more independent, and more democratic Türkiye under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
