Turkish Vice President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is participating in a meeting on “Peace and Security in Ukraine” on Thursday in Paris.
Yilmaz is attending the meeting of heads of state and government on peace and security in Ukraine, hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.
The meeting aims to identify possible options for achieving a solid and lasting peace in Ukraine, in line with the initiative launched in Paris on February 17 and the subsequent talks in Britain, with the aim of respecting the security interests of Ukrainians and Europeans.
In this context, the meeting will discuss enhancing aid to Ukraine, implementing and extending the ceasefire, as well as methods for long-term support for the Ukrainian army and necessary security guarantees.
Since February 24, 2022, Russia has been launching a military offensive against its neighbor, demanding that Kyiv abandon its membership in Western military entities as a condition for ending the offensive. Kyiv considers this to be “interference” in its internal affairs.
