Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed the announcement of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip between Hamas and Israel.
This came in a statement he published on his account on the X platform on Wednesday.
Erdogan said: “We welcome the ceasefire talks between the Palestinian resistance movement and Israel resulting in an agreement.”
He expressed his hope that the agreement would open the door to permanent peace and stability for the region and for all humanity, especially our Palestinian brothers.
He added: “We salute with all respect the people of Gaza and its brave sons who bravely defended their land and freedom against the illegal and inhumane Israeli attacks.”
He stressed that Turkey “did not leave the Palestinians alone for a single moment in their struggle against injustice and the unjust.”

He continued: “We will continue to stand by the people of Gaza and will harness all our capabilities to heal the wounds of the Strip and revive it again.”
Erdogan recalled with mercy “all the martyrs who watered the land of Gaza with their pure blood,” asking God to return the ceasefire agreement to benefit.
Earlier on Wednesday evening, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani announced in a press conference that mediators Egypt, Qatar and the United States had succeeded in reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, noting that it would begin implementation next Sunday.
This comes on the 467th day of the Israeli war of extermination on the Strip, which, with American support, has left about 157,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that has killed dozens of children and elderly people, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
