Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan confirmed on Sunday that Turkey will stand by the Syrian people and provide them with everything they need.
This came in a post on the X platform, in which he evaluated his visit to the capital Damascus and his meeting with the leader of the new Syrian administration, Ahmed al-Sharaa.
In this context, Fidan said: “This visit after many years will be the first step in a new era full of hope for the Syrian people.”
He stated that the Turkish people, led by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, did not leave the “Syrian brothers” to face their fate.
Fidan explained: “Our priority for Syria is to ensure stability and security in the country, eliminate terrorism, achieve national reconciliation, ensure economic development, and create conditions that enable Syrians who have been away from their country for years to return to their homeland.”
He stressed that Turkey will make all contributions to establish a safe, free, and prosperous Syria that contributes to regional peace.
Fidan concluded his post by saying: “I am confident that better days await our Syrian brothers, whose struggle I have personally witnessed for 14 years.”
