The head of the Turkish Association of Producers and Distributors of Promotional Products, Muhammad Yucatürk, said that the country’s companies have received requests from Syria to produce 500,000 flags for the Syrian revolution.
Yucatürk pointed out that the promotional sector in Turkey currently operates in three shifts, and that 70 percent of the sector’s annual revenues are achieved in the last three months of the year.
He stated that companies used to offer promotional gifts to their customers and employees at the end of the year, which prompted them to request promotional products during the last months.
He pointed out that Turkish companies working in the promotional sector have received requests from Syria to produce 500,000 flags for the Syrian revolution.
These requests come in the wake of the fall of the Baath regime led by Bashar al-Assad in Syria and the replacement of the previous flag with the “revolution flag.”
He explained that the number of employees in companies classified as producers of promotional products exceeds 300,000.
He added that the most common requests as the end of the year approaches include notebooks and pens.
He said they expect the value of promotional exports to reach $3 billion this year.
