Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed on Wednesday that the lack of international deterrent steps to stop Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the massacres in Gaza means the end of humanity and the replacement of international law by the law of the jungle.
This came in a speech he delivered during his participation on Wednesday in the award ceremony of the ninth international Quran memorization and reading competition at the Turkish Presidential Complex in the capital Ankara.
He commented on the genocidal war that Israel has been committing against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip for more than a year, saying: “We are living shameful days for humanity, as 50,000 innocent people are being brutally killed and two million people are being bombed and imprisoned in a small piece of land.”
Erdogan criticized the Islamic world’s failure to show a strong reaction to the Israeli massacres taking place in Gaza.
He said: “I regret to say that there is no strong reaction from Islamic countries regarding Gaza, with the exception of some countries, and we must not forget that this dispersion will be recorded in history.”
Erdogan stressed that the Islamic world is going through a deeper shock than ever before, almost a test of existence and nothingness.
He pointed out that a large part of the Islamic geography, especially Gaza and Palestine, which Israel has occupied for decades and has been committing genocide in front of the eyes of the entire world for more than a year, unfortunately suffers from instability, conflict, war and poverty.
He pointed out that many of the oppressed people in the world who are struggling to survive pin their hopes on Turkey and Ankara not to disappoint them.
He pointed out that “the Israeli government, blinded by the illusions of Zionism, controls all entities entrusted with protecting peace, human rights, freedom of the press and democracy, not just the UN Security Council.”

He continued: “I call on all those whose hearts beat for Palestine and Lebanon, especially the Turkish people, to extend a helping hand to the oppressed.”
He added: “Words are not enough to describe the state of madness we have witnessed since October 7, 2023, and the other painful truth is the inability of international institutions and organizations.”
Erdogan stated that children in Palestine have been subjected to genocide for 13 months, and that Israeli snipers are shooting journalists live.
He added: “There are many crimes that make a person ashamed of his humanity, and there is no objection from international institutions that have tens of thousands of employees and budgets worth billions of dollars.”
He stressed that the genocide carried out by Israel in Gaza has dropped all masks, and that the Israeli administration’s disregard for international law reminds once again that the values that the West claims to defend for decades are “completely empty.”
Erdogan stressed that “the Gazans who believe in Gaza have heroically resisted the occupiers like the lions of Badr and the lovers of independence who made crossing the Çanakkale (strait) difficult (referring to the resistance of the Ottoman forces to the hostile allied forces in 1915).”
Erdogan stressed that “Gaza and Palestine are resisting valiantly not only for their dignity, but also for all Muslims and humanity as a whole.”
He added: “We are indebted to the children who were martyred with prayer beads in their hands while embracing the Holy Quran under the rubble of their destroyed homes in Gaza.”
He continued: “We have responsibilities towards our brothers who were burned alive by the bombs of the Zionist killers inside the tents when they were displaced in Gaza.”

He added: “We have a promise to the sons of this nation and its heroes who embody dignity by challenging the oppressors and not submitting to injustice.”
He stated that the coming winter will be more difficult than ever for those who bear the brunt of the war, especially in Gaza and Lebanon.
He pointed out that the Israeli government will work to leave people facing hunger, thirst and lack of medicine in order to overcome the resistance after it failed to do so by using bombs and missiles.
Erdogan stressed that Israel will seek to subjugate the proud sons of Palestine by preventing the passage of humanitarian aid.
He added: “Israel will practice all kinds of evils throughout this winter against two million people whom it forced to live in conditions similar to those that were prevalent in Nazi concentration camps.”
He stressed the need to take action to prevent humanity from sliding further down the abyss.
He said: “We cannot leave our brothers alone in a desperate situation in the face of this banditry.”
He added: “I call on all those whose hearts beat for Palestine and Lebanon, especially my generous people, to extend a helping hand to the oppressed.”
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with absolute American support, has been waging a “genocidal” war on Gaza, resulting in more than 144,000 Palestinian deaths and injuries, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that has killed dozens of children and elderly people, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
