Anke Budde, President of the Association of Independent Travel Agencies in the Federal Republic of Germany (ASR), stated that there is a great demand for travel from Germany to Turkey, and said: “I believe that Turkey will be a leading country in Germany in terms of tourism.”
Budde said that Turkey has kept up very well with all the new tourism trends, especially in Western Europe, and explained that Turkey has a very serious tourism infrastructure in Europe.
Budde stressed that this situation attracts the attention of German tourists in particular, and pointed out that health tourism, fitness tourism, sports tourism, family tourism, art tourism, and cultural tourism are among the popular Turkish tourism options.
Noting that very serious products have been developed regarding tourism in Turkey apart from events, meetings and business conferences.
Budde pointed out that very serious products have been developed in Turkey in terms of tourism, in addition to business events, meetings and conferences, and said: “Especially in the winter months, tourism agencies are developing very special travel programs and offers for Europeans over 65 years old. In other words, Turkey is in the middle of almost all trends.”
Noting that cultural relations between the two countries have been very warm for years due to the Turkish population density in Germany, Budde shared the information that there are thousands of Turks working in the tourism sector in Germany, especially in travel agencies.

Budde said: “They organize events but it is not enough. Turkish and German people need to get closer on the basis of NGOs.” She made her assessment.
Describing the “Work” program where work and holidays are offered together, Budde said that it is widely used by Europeans and that it is a program that mostly targets EU countries.
Budde stressed that Turkey offers a serious alternative in terms of hotel infrastructure and technology, saying: “The implementation of the work program in Turkey is actually a very good idea. However, it is one of the issues that we need to work on a little bit more.” She commented: “The promotions in Turkey are very good.”
Assessing the tourism prospects in 2025, Budde said that this situation depends on two reasons and continued as follows:
“The results of the US elections and how the two wars will end will have an impact on our expectations. There are wars, there are threats, there is talk of a third world war. We as tourism professionals cannot know whether this is true or false.” Of course, such talks, expectations and threats “prevent us from seeing the future and in this sense we have to be very careful. If this does not turn into a threat, I think it will be very good for tourism.”
“I think Turkey will be a leading country in Germany, especially in the field of tourism. There is a very serious demand for Turkey.” “The promotions in Turkey are very good. Turkey is visible everywhere. The sales of travel tickets are very good. In other words, the Turks are the most hardworking of all those working in the tourism sector, whether it is travel agencies or airlines. They embrace the sector very much and we appreciate that. This will have a big return in 2025 if there is no disaster or war in the world,” Budde said.
