Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed that the international community cannot remain silent over “Israel’s rampage that is pushing the entire region into fire.”

This came in a speech he delivered after chairing a government meeting at the presidential complex in the capital, Ankara.

Erdogan called on the international community and the Islamic world to take action for the peace of all in the region, including Muslims, Christians and Jews.

He stated that standing with Palestine and Lebanon today means standing with humanity, peace and the culture of coexistence among different beliefs.

He added that Islamic countries must show the greatest response to the injustice in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon, and that Muslims must lead the world in order to prevent injustice.

He continued by saying: “A handful of extremist Zionists blinded by hatred are throwing our region and the entire world into fire, and we will never accept this injustice and this barbarism.”

Regarding Israel’s attacks on Gaza, Erdogan said: “The recommendation to use force as stated in the UN General Assembly resolution of 1950 must be implemented quickly.” He touched on the humanitarian aid provided by Turkey to Lebanon, saying: “We delivered 30 tons of humanitarian aid to Beirut on Wednesday and we will continue our aid as long as the security conditions allow it.”
