According to a written statement from the ministry, daily records in oil and natural gas production were broken during this month as part of the efforts of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to increase oil and natural gas production.

Minister Bayraktar stated that they announced 2024 as the year of increasing oil and natural gas production and said: “Thank God, we are moving towards this goal with confident steps.

In August, our oil and natural gas production reached its highest levels in history. On August 17, our crude oil production reached 107,621 barrels, with TPAO implementing 95,656 barrels of this production. On the same day, we reached a production figure of 47,058 barrels from the wells in Mount Gabar.”

“Turkey is moving towards ending dependence on foreign energy,”

Bayraktar said, adding that a record in natural gas production was also set this month. “We broke the record of production with 7 million 609 thousand 427 cubic meters on August 15. The largest share of this production belongs to the Turkish National Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) again. TPAO produced 7 million 335 thousand 47 cubic meters of natural gas on August 15. On August 15, production from the Sakarya gas field in the Black Sea alone reached 6 million 146 thousand 886 cubic meters,” he added.

Bayraktar stressed that Turkey is moving forward with great determination towards ending dependence on foreign energy within the framework of the National Energy and Mining Policy with its own ships, engineers and facilities.

He made the following assessment: “In line with the Turkey Century Vision set by our President, we will further increase our production through new drilling operations both on land and offshore, both domestically and abroad, and hopefully through new discoveries.”
