The Anti-Disinformation Center of the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Department denied allegations made by Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
This came in a statement published on the X platform.
The center said that Katz’s claim on his social media account that “President Erdogan refused to transfer Ismail Haniyeh’s wealth of approximately $3 billion in Turkish banks to his sons is a false claim.”
It explained that Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of Hamas who was assassinated in Iran, did not have any savings in Turkish banks as Katz claims.
The center stated that President Erdogan received Ismail Haniyeh’s sons, Abd Al-Salam and Humam, and offered them condolences for the martyrdom of their father.
It stressed that the two sides did not raise any issue during the meeting such as what Katz claimed.
The center called for not paying attention to the disinformation campaigns carried out by Israel to justify its genocide in Palestine and manipulate world opinion.
