The Turkish Foreign Ministry said that Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz “is trying to hide his country’s crimes against the Palestinians by launching a series of lies and slander through social media.”
This came in a statement by the ministry on Sunday in response to a post by the Israeli Foreign Minister on social media that contained a number of lies and slander and directed insults against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The statement stressed that “the dirty propaganda activities and attempts to wage a psychological war carried out by Israel targeting Turkey and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will not achieve any results.”
The statement said: “Members of (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu’s government who killed nearly 40,000 Palestinians in Gaza and wanted to ignite a regional war in order to remain in power will appear before international courts and will be held accountable for the crimes they committed.”

In its statement, the Ministry reiterated that “Turkey will continue to tell the truth and defend the rights of the Palestinian people to live in justice and peace.”
With American support, Israel has been waging a war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in about 129,000 Palestinian deaths and injuries, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing people amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of dozens of children.
Tel Aviv continues the war on Gaza, ignoring the UN Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to end the invasion of Rafah (south), and to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the dire humanitarian situation in the Strip.
