Cape Canaveral Base in the United States is witnessing final preparations before the space flight of Turkey’s first domestic communications satellite, “Turksat 6A”, which will be launched on July 9 at 00.20 Turkish local time.

According to the statement issued by Turksat on Sunday, preparations are underway to launch the satellite with SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket.

On the launch date, the company will organize a celebratory event on this occasion at its headquarters in the capital, Ankara, and Turkish engineers will follow the launch process from Cape Canaveral Air Force Base.

On June 4, the Turksat 6A satellite was sent from a station in the capital, Ankara, in a special farewell ceremony attended by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, and the Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kaçer.

It is planned to launch the satellite into space orbit between July 8 and 15, depending on weather conditions.

More than 80 percent of the local Turksat 6A was created by Turkish engineers at the USET company, a subsidiary of the Turkish TUSAŞ Aviation and Space Industries Company.

It is planned that the moon will settle in an orbit of 42 degrees east at a distance of 35,786 km, and will have a pulling power of 7.5 kilowatts and a weight of 4,250 kg.

Turksat 6A will be able to provide service to areas not served by current Turkish satellites, such as India, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Thus, the population reached by satellites will increase from 3.5 billion to 5 billion, and exports of Turkish satellite services are expected to increase.
