Turkish Trade Minister Omar Polat announced on Monday that his country recorded exports worth $21 billion last August, indicating that this was the highest value of exports during the month ever.
Polat explained in a post on social media that Turkey’s exports grew by 1.6 percent last August.
The Turkish minister pointed out that the value of exports reached this level despite the slowdown in the global economy and the effects of the earthquake that Turkey witnessed last February.
He said: “Our exports rose to 21 billion and 619 million dollars in August, an increase of 1.6 percent.”
