This came in a message of condolence sent by Çavuşoğlu to Cuba, which was published by the Cuban Foreign Ministry on its Twitter account on Tuesday.
Çavuşoğlu expressed his grief over the outbreak of a fire in a large oil storage facility in the city of Matanzas.
In his message, he said: “On behalf of Turkey, the people and the government, we extend our sincere condolences to those affected by the accident. We wish a speedy recovery to the injured. We share the pain of the friendly Cuban people.”
On Friday, local officials said that a fire broke out at a large oil storage facility in the city of Matanzas after lightning struck a fuel storage tank during a thunderstorm, and the fire spread to a second and third tank, causing a series of explosions.

The fire caused the death of one person, the injury of 125 others, and the evacuation of more than 4,000 people from the area.
The facility includes 8 large tanks for storing fuel used to generate electricity.
