Turkey: We are communicating with Italy about the missing helicopter

The Turkish authorities announced on Friday that they are communicating with their Italian counterpart about the missing helicopter, which had 7 people on board, including 4 Turks.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Tango Bilgic said in a statement that communication with the Italian authorities is through the Turkish Embassy in Rome and the Consulate General in Milan.

He added that the Italian search and rescue teams are continuing their search for the helicopter, which went missing yesterday, Thursday, after it deviated from the radar system between the regions of Tuscany and Emilia.

He stressed that the Turkish Foreign Ministry will provide the public opinion in the country with all new information regarding the missing helicopter.

And on Thursday, the Italian agency “ANSA” said that a private helicopter carrying 7 people went missing between the regions of Tuscany and Emilia.

She explained that the helicopter, “Agusta Koala AW119”, took off from Capanori Tasiniano Airport in Lucca, in the morning hours.
