Turkish aid to a thousand needy families in Uganda

On Sunday, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) provided aid on the occasion of Ramadan to 1,000 needy families in Uganda.

A ceremony was held to distribute aid in the “Katwa” area of ​​the capital Kampala, in which the Turkish ambassador, Kerem Alp, and the regional minister of the region, Hagati Mesa, participated.

As well as the coordinator of “TIKA” in Uganda, Omar Aykon, as well as other officials.

In his speech, the Turkish ambassador said that they launched many charitable programs and projects in various regions of Uganda during the month of Ramadan.

He added that these charitable projects come in cooperation with the Turkish Religious Endowment, “TIKA” and other Turkish humanitarian and relief organizations.

He explained that charitable projects include needy areas and refugee camps in various regions of Uganda.

In turn, the Ugandan minister thanked the Turkish embassy and TIKA officials for the assistance they provide to the people of his country, adding: “We are grateful to you for what you are doing here.”

For his part, TIKA’s coordinator in Uganda said that the aid they provided is enough to cover the families’ needs for 15 days.

He stated that the aid included basic food needs.
