Kosovan Defense Minister Armind Mihaj said on Tuesday that the military cooperation between his country and Turkey is at a very good level.
This came in a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart, Hulusi Akar, after their meeting in the Kosovar capital, Pristina.

Mihaj noted that he had discussed with Minister Akar the security situation in Kosovo and the region, adding: “The relations between Kosovo and Turkey are very good, not only at the diplomatic level but also at the military level.”
He stressed that they will never forget the support provided by Turkey to them in the difficult days during the Kosovo war, and the support after the war, especially in order to enhance their military capabilities.
He noted that 19 members of the Kosovar security forces are currently receiving training in Turkey.
He stressed that the officers and non-commissioned officers who successfully completed their training in Turkey during the last ten years contributed to strengthening the strength of the Kosovar security forces.

Minister Mihaj expressed his country’s aspiration to obtain support from Turkey for Kosovo’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), stressing that Minister Akar pledged to provide the necessary support in the path of its accession to the alliance.
After the press conference, Minister Akar met with Kosovo President Vyusa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
