Eighty countries said on Thursday that Gaza is facing the “worst humanitarian crisis” since the start of the Israeli war on the Strip on October 7, 2023, warning that civilians in the Strip are at risk of “famine.”
This came in a joint statement sent by these countries to the United Nations to coincide with “Protection of Civilians in Armed Conflict Week,” and the text of which was published by the French Foreign Ministry on its website.
The 80 countries said in their statement: “We have a clear message: protecting civilians in armed conflict is not an option, but a legal obligation under international humanitarian law, and a moral imperative that we cannot neglect.”
