On Sunday, the Turkish authorities arrested 63 irregular migrants during an operation by the gendarmerie forces in Bitlis province (east).
Bitlis state said in a statement that the gendarmerie carried out an operation at a checkpoint to arrest migrant smugglers.

The authorities launched an investigation with 4 people suspected of involvement in migrant smuggling.
