On Monday, two earthquakes measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit the Aegean Sea in western Turkey. The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said in a statement that the first earthquake occurred at a depth of 7 kilometers.
This was at 23:19 Turkish time (GMT+3), and the second earthquake occurred at a depth of 13.88 kilometers at 23:39 Turkish time.
A similar earthquake with the same magnitude occurred at 20:44 Turkish time in the Aegean Sea off the country’s western coast.
