Turkey… Rescued 86 asylum-seekers forced by Greece to return

On Monday, the Turkish Coast Guard rescued 86 asylum seekers who were forced back by the Greek authorities into Turkish territorial waters.

The Turkish Coast Guard command also received a report that a group of asylum seekers was on a rubber boat off the coast of Dikili district in Izmir state, in the west of the country.

It pointed out that 55 asylum seekers were on their way to the Greek islands, as the Greek coast guard pushed them into Turkish territorial waters.

Also in Izmir, the Coast Guard rescued 30 asylum seekers on a rubber dinghy off the coast of Qaraburnu district.

On the other hand, the Turkish coast guard in the state of Aydin, in the west of the country, rescued an asylum seeker in a rubber boat off the “Gosh Adasi” district.

After the asylum seekers were rescued, they were transferred to the Directorate of Migration Management in the respective states to take legal action against them.
