Turkey provides humanitarian aid to Ukraine

On Tuesday, two trucks loaded with Turkish humanitarian aid arrived in the Ukrainian city of Bucha.

Bucha, near the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, is one of the areas most affected by the Russian military operations that began on February 24.

A ceremony was held in Bucha to hand over the two trucks loaded with foodstuffs and clothes to the city’s administrative authorities.

The ceremony was attended by the Turkish Ambassador to Kyiv Yagmur Ahmet Gelder, Deputy Head of Administration for the Kyiv Region Oleg Turkunov and other officials.

In his speech, Galdera indicated that Turkey is among the countries that have provided extensive support to the Ukrainian people since the start of the war on February 24.

He said, “97 relief trucks have arrived in Ukraine so far.”

He stressed that Turkey will continue to provide aid to Ukraine.

For his part, Turkunov expressed his gratitude for Turkey’s humanitarian and political support for his country.

He expressed the hope that Turkey would also participate in the reconstruction of post-war Ukraine.

On February 24, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine, followed by international rejection and severe economic sanctions against Moscow, which require Kyiv to abandon plans to join military entities and remain neutral, which the latter considers an “interference” in its sovereignty, to end its operation.
