A general strike has been declared in the occupied West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Arab populated towns of Israel due to the Israeli attacks.

Craftsmen have closed their doors in Arab towns in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Israel since the morning hours.

In the West Bank, where private institutions, universities, and banks took part in the strike, the intensity of traffic was generally low.

Rasim Obeidat, a Palestinian activist residing in Jerusalem, said in a statement that the strike reflects the unity of the Palestinian people in Jerusalem, the West Bank, Gaza and all the Palestinian territories.

“The strike shows that our goal, our destiny, our land and our people are one, and this message is also conveyed to occupied Israel,” Obeidat said.

Fahmi Shaheen, who is the coordinator of the national and Islamic forces in the city of Hebron, said that the Palestinian people went on strike because of the barbaric attacks they were exposed to by Israel and the stance of the international community towards Israel in these attacks.

Shaheen added that the strike is important due to the participation of the Palestinians in all the Palestinian lands known as the 1948 lands in the West Bank, Gaza and Israel.

Shaheen said that the Palestinian factions would strengthen their unity and solidarity after the strike, and all kinds of struggles would continue.

Israel’s attack on worshipers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem during the month of Ramadan and plans to force residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood to leave their homes has led to an escalation of tension in the area.

The Palestinian resistance factions in the Gaza Strip allowed the occupation police to withdraw from Al-Aqsa Mosque and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied East Jerusalem until six o’clock in the evening on Monday, May 10, local time.

And after the Israeli police did not withdraw from Al-Aqsa Mosque and Sheikh Jarrah, the Palestinian resistance factions fired many rockets at Israel.

After that, the Israeli army announced the launch of a military operation dubbed “Guardian of the Walls” against the Gaza Strip.

In the attacks launched by Israel on the blockaded Gaza Strip since May 10, 212 people, including 61 children and 36 women, were killed and 1,400 injured.
