Sarajevo.. President Erdogan visits the grave of Ali Izetbegovic

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan paid a visit to the grave of the first president of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ali Izetbegovic in Sarajevo.

Erdogan arrived at the Kovaci cemetery for martyrs in the Bosnian capital on Tuesday evening and laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The Turkish president also laid flowers at the tomb of Izetbegovic, while the Turkish head of religious affairs, Ali Erbas, raised a prayer in front of the grave.

The visit was attended by the President of the Presidential Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Shafik Jafarovic, and the Bosnian member of the Presidential Office in the People’s Assembly, Bakr Izetbegovic, as well as the Turkish delegation.

Later, Erdogan went to the new building of the Islamic Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina and exchanged conversations with Bosnian citizens who gathered to meet him.

Earlier on Tuesday, President Erdogan began a three-day tour of the Balkans, which began with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also includes Serbia and Croatia.
