“We want Turkey to be part of the European Union,” Sanchez added. “Turkey is not just a neighbor, but a common ally of the Union.”

He expressed his country’s desire to strengthen Turkey for this rapprochement and to continue the positive agenda envisaged by the European Council.

On the Turkish-Spanish bilateral relations, Sanchez said that they have reached an exceptional level and a good degree of maturity, describing them as “very positive.”

He pointed to the significant increase in the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, pointing to the significant increase in investments.

He continued, “At the same time, Turkey’s growth rate is above average, and it will continue to be this way in the future.”

Sanchez noted positive news about the recovery of the Spanish economy, noting that his country has witnessed an increase in the number of those covered by social security since February 2020.
