According to the general trade system, exports increased by 5.9 percent to reach 31 billion and 38 million dollars in the period from January to February of 2021 compared to the same period of the previous year.

Imports increased by 1.4 percent to reach 37 billion and 388 million dollars.

The foreign trade deficit increased 8.7 percent in February

The foreign trade deficit increased by 8.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and rose from 3 billion and 36 million dollars to 3 billion and 299 million dollars.

The ratio of exports to imports increased from 82.8% in February 2020 to 82.9% in February 2021.

In the period from January to February, the foreign trade deficit decreased by 15.9 percent, from 7 billion and 548 million dollars to 6 billion and 350 million dollars.

The ratio of exports to imports increased from 79.5% in the January-February 2020 period to 83.0% in the same period in 2021.

According to economic activities, in February 2021, the share of the manufacturing industry was 94.2 percent, the share of agriculture, forestry and fishing was 3.6 percent, and the share of the mining and quarrying sector was 1.8 percent.

Germany is the first among the countries to export to

It was followed by the United Kingdom with 965 million dollars, then the United States with 917 million dollars, Italy with 833 million dollars, and France with 755 million dollars.

Exports to the top five countries accounted for 31.0 percent of total exports.

It is followed by the United States with $ 849 billion, the United Kingdom $ 778 million, Italy $ 698 billion, and France $ 492 million.

China ranks first in terms of imports

China ranked first in Turkish imports. While imports from China in February amounted to 2 billion and 241 million dollars, followed by Russia with one billion $ 706 million, Germany with one billion $ 701 million, Italy with 931 million dollars and the United States with 850 million dollars.

Imports from the first five countries accounted for 38.5 percent of total imports.

China also ranked first in imports from January to February.
